How the scan works

Follow the oval
Open the camera and move the phone so your face fills the oval. Facemap takes three photographs at different distances for you. There is no shutter button and no photo to choose.

Measure on device
478 landmarks are placed on every photograph and corrected for head angle and expression, then over 1,600 calculations produce 22 categories of proportion, symmetry and definition readings. Nothing is uploaded for a free reading.

Get your score
Each reading is scored against its published reference range, the three photographs are measured independently and your score is read from the clearest one. Readings that move between photographs are reported but held back from the headline number. You get a score out of 100 explained in plain language.
Privacy
Your face stays yours.
A free scan runs on your device. Your photograph is never uploaded or stored, and the reading is cleared as soon as you close or refresh the page. No account, password or card is required. Only a paid report keeps your image, and only for you.
